Hello, fellow travelers!

I’m thrilled to be planning an epic journey across North and South America for the 2026 FIFA World Cup! With games hosted across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, I thought it would be a fantastic opportunity to explore other nearby countries as well. So, along with the World Cup stops, I’ll be visiting Peru and Brazil to dive into some South American culture and natural beauty. Since this is going to be quite a long trip, I’d love to hear from anyone who’s done something similar or has experience in these countries.

Here’s a bit about my trip:

1. World Cup Stops (U.S., Canada, Mexico):

I’m still waiting on the full match schedule to finalize which cities to visit, but I’d like to catch a few games in each host country if possible. Does anyone have tips for navigating World Cup host cities, especially in terms of getting around, ticketing, or finding last-minute accommodations? Also, are there any hidden gems in these countries you think are worth a visit between matches? I’m particularly interested in cities like New York, Toronto, and Mexico City.

2. Peru (Machu Picchu & Beyond):

While I’m in Peru, Machu Picchu is a must! I’d love any tips on the best ways to experience it, including hiking routes, entry tips, and whether it’s better to go solo or book a guided tour. If you’ve been, how many days did you find ideal? And, since I’ll already be in Peru, I’m open to visiting other incredible spots. I’ve heard good things about Lima’s food scene and the Nazca Lines—are these worth adding to the itinerary?

3. Brazil (Rio de Janeiro & the Amazon):

I can’t pass up Rio’s beaches and vibe, and I hope to visit the Amazon, too. For anyone who’s done an Amazon tour, what’s the best way to do it? Also, I’d love advice on staying safe and comfortable while traveling solo in Brazil. And for Carnival enthusiasts, do you have recommendations for getting a taste of that experience?

Additional Questions:

1. Budget Travel Tips: I’d appreciate any insights into budget-friendly travel options, especially since this is a long trip. For instance, are there budget airlines between these countries? Any tips on finding cheaper accommodation, especially near World Cup venues?

2. Best Travel Seasons: Since the World Cup is in the summer, are there specific places in Peru or Brazil that might be better to visit during or after the games?

3. Cultural Etiquette: With so many different cultures in one trip, are there any specific dos and don’ts I should keep in mind? I want to be as respectful and mindful as possible.

4. Connecting with Other Fans: Finally, if you’ve attended previous World Cups, do you have any suggestions for meeting fellow fans, especially those who might want to explore these cities together? I’d love to be part of a travel group!

Thanks in advance for any advice or tips you can share! I can’t wait to hear from you all. Cheers to a fantastic World Cup adventure!
